I'm Not Writing This Book (unless Jesus says otherwise)

I wrote down a story idea every day in September.

With the end of the Grimoire & Key trilogy getting closer with every passing day, I have been hard at work trying to figure out what I'm writing next.

And that's been a problem. It's always a problem.

When finishing a book for publication, I quickly get obsessed with finding the right idea and not wasting time. I'm in full on work-mode and it takes me time to remember that any good story doesn't start as a task on my to-do list.

My imagination muscles are very rusty after working on the same series for years now, and I can't just calculate my way into the next story.

Road block after road block, it took me a year to remember that in order to find my next story, I have to surrender it to Jesus. I have to power up the imagination of not a published author but of a girl who loves writing, returning to the wonder and delight of storytelling.

I didn't need another Pinterest board or playlist.

I needed to open myself up to discovery, play, imagination for the sake of imagination alone.

So I challenged myself to write one story concept every day in September, just for fun, no stakes, no promises.

I wanted to share some of my favorites with you as a reminder that

No story is ever wasted, even if it is never published or even written.

God works through our Works-in-Progress in many ways, and one of them is simply to share His creativity with us.
